samuel seafarer is a great digressionist. he gets lost in a story and finds things as he goes. he’s always thinking of the unseen people that haunt a landscape. the way he pieces together his imagery is never entirely linear.
for as long as i can remember, he’s been inventing his own portrait of suburbia through photography: piecing it together his own way, finding something in the detritus. he’s a photographer-flâneur. his photographs of childhood haunts aren’t maps to orient oneself through; they are places to get further lost in, adventures waiting to be had.
